CARMINE APPICE, PAUL SHORTINO To Guest On MOONSTONE CD
November 29, 2004Carmine Appice (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLUE MURDER, VANILLA FUDGE) and Paul Shortino (ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT, HEAVEN & EARTH) are the latest musicians to confirm their guest appearances on the upcoming CD from MOONSTONE, the new project of Italian guitarist Matteo Filippini. Appice and Shortino will be heard on the song "Pictures of My Lonely Days".
Commented Matteo: "Carmine is just my favorite drummer along with Paicey and Bonzo...he's just pure legend to me. Mr. Shortino is one of my favourite singers ever... I love his bluesy, soulful, also powerful voice. Of course it's great to have these guys on another song of mine…"
The musical direction of MOONSTONE is being described as "genuine British-oriented '70s classic rock," not a million miles removed from the likes of FREE, JIMI HENDRIX and DEEP PURPLE. Among the other musicians that have recorded guest appearances for the project are Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH),Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, ALCATRAZZ, IMPELLITTERI, BLACKTHORNE),Eric Bloom (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT),John Lawton (ex-URIAH HEEP) and Tony Franklin (ex-BLUE MURDER, WHITESNAKE).
MOONSTONE's "Time To Take A Stand" CD is tentatively due in early 2005.
